Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) Chicago Office is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Inspector to join our team.

You will work closely with the Resident Engineer to ensure conformance with standards, safety, and contract requirements and be responsible for overseeing contractor’s daily activities and work of junior inspectors. The role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in roadway/bridge construction, a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or IDOT

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents.
• Ability to administer contract portions including change orders and pay requests.
• Knowledge of standards, specs, and materials used in roadway and bridge construction.

Responsibilities

• Decide on work in progress; solve field and office problems; supervise others.
• Inspect tests on construction materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregates, soils).
• Oversee daily activities of inspection personnel; review daily reports.
