Job summary

MAAS Companies, Inc. is seeking a Constructability Review Specialist to support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during design and preconstruction.

You will review project scope, schedule, and construction documents before bid, helping define the scope and coordinating multidisciplinary deliverables. Early in design, provide value engineering recommendations to lower cost without compromising building requirements.

Qualifications

• 15 years of full-time professional experience with a degree in architecture, including 10 years as a Construction Administrator on public or educational facility construction projects, fully responsible for supporting those projects, and 5 years as a Designer.
• 15 years of full-time professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager on public or educational facility construction or large commercial projects, fully responsible for coordinating complex projects, with at least one project over $30 million and $400 million or more combined
• At least 2 years of college coursework from a recognized college, university, or trade school, plus 5 additional years of experience, may substitute for the degree requirement

Responsibilities

• Definition and review of the Project Requirement Document scope of work and schedule, including interim housing requirements
• Value engineering recommendations at the start of design
• Written comments on design deliverables identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions, to reduce RFIs and change orders
• Coordination of the construction documents across design disciplines
• Comprehensive constructability review of pre-bid construction documents
