Job summary

BakerHostetler seeks a Manager of Conflicts and New Business Intake to lead the Conflicts Researcher and Analyst teams and oversee the firm’s New Business Intake process. You will drive performance, develop staff, ensure service quality, and implement process improvements to meet ethical and business requirements.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior leadership, analytics, and cross-functional partners to sustain efficient intake operations and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of law firm conflicts, new business intake, risk management, or related experience.
• Minimum of three years of management or supervisory experience is required.
• Knowledge of conflicts searching and analysis and professional responsibility requirements.
• Experience managing operations, workflow priorities, and service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience with Intapp or other automated conflicts software and legal research tools preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and quick to learn new software.
• Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and have strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills.
• Excellent planning, prioritization, and deadline management.
• Willingness to work overtime and manage a team across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Conflicts Researcher and Analyst teams and New Business Intake operations.
• Manage department performance, employee development, and service quality.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and workload trends; support data-driven decisions.
• Provide guidance on escalated conflicts and intake issues.
• Coordinate systems, workflows, and department objectives with other managers.
• Lead process improvements and implement innovative technologies to increase efficiency.
• Create training materials and best practice resources to promote consistency.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, performance management, and succession planning.
• Maintain high standards of client service and quality control.
