Job summary

Nexamp, a leader in clean energy, seeks a Lead Commissioning Engineer to drive the commissioning of PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems, from pre-energization through turnover, including MC, PTO, and SC. You will own SCADA/controls design and troubleshoot complex issues with field and remote teams.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with Deployment, SCADA, Engineering, and contractors, and help align commissioning activities with construction milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years designing and commissioning electrical power systems.
• 4+ years renewables (Solar, Wind, Storage).
• Experience in controls engineering for utility-scale renewable energy.
• Knowledge of inverter parameter setting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of PV and BESS from pre-energization through turnover.
• Troubleshoot electrical, protection, and SCADA issues during commissioning and early operations.
• Manage commissioning schedules with Deployment, SCADA, Engineering, and contractors.
• Provide remote and field support for DAS, inverter, BESS, and SCADA commissioning; witness tests.
• Review site performance and conduct performance testing; troubleshoot underperformance.
• Lead DAS/SCADA system design for PV, BESS, and hybrid PV+BESS projects; coordinate telecom equipment installation.
• Assist in developing SCADA engineering standards for utility-scale applications.
• Mentor and train junior commissioning team members and field technicians.
