Job summary

gpac is seeking a Project Manager for a Birmingham-based commercial construction firm. This role requires taking full ownership of projects from preconstruction to completion and managing a portfolio ranging from $5M to $40M.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of PM experience, a background in ground-up projects, and strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate diverse teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience.
• Experience managing ground-up projects.
• Experience handling projects from $5M to $40M.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in CM, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and overall project plans.
• Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
• Manage project costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and financial performance.
• Identify potential issues and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project staff.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design teams.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the company's quality standards.
