Job summary

Gusto is building its P&C insurance agency to serve small businesses. The role focuses on servicing a growing book with a proactive, data-driven approach and cross-functional collaboration with carriers, product, and engineering.

The candidate will manage endorsements, coverage questions, renewals, and claims intake while ensuring compliance and high-quality client interactions. A Colorado P&C license or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lines service experience at an independent agency, brokerage, or carrier.
• Active Property & Casualty producer license (Colorado preferred) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Experience with carrier portals and coordinating with underwriting/servicing teams.
• Experience using AI tools for drafting, summarization, triage, outreach.
• Evidence of building effective processes, workflows, or tools.

Responsibilities

• Own daily servicing of the assigned book: endorsements, certificates of insurance, coverage questions, premium audits, billing disputes, cancellations, reinstatements, renewals.
• Accountable for outcomes connected to Business Insurance customers.
• Liaise between insureds, carriers, and licensed producers; explain coverage clearly.
• Run proactive outreach using payroll data to catch FEIN mismatches, new-state hires, and code drift.
• Address pending cancellations and non-pay; determine drivers and secure reinstatement or replacement coverage.
• Handle claims intake and status reporting; coordinate with carrier adjusting teams.
• Document recurring cases as product specs; collaborate with product/engineering to automate certificates, endorsements, and intake triage using AI.
