Job summary

Gusto is building its P&C insurance servicing function and seeks a hands‑on leader to hire and grow a small licensed team. You will own service quality, endorsements, renewals, claims handling, and carrier relationships, while shaping scalable SOPs and automated processes.

Ideal candidates draw on 5+ years in commercial lines, have WC depth, and possess a valid P&C producer license with a willingness to obtain additional licenses. Denver-based, hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lines service experience at an independent agency, brokerage, or carrier.
• 1–2+ years leading or supervising a service team.
• Workers' Compensation depth and ability to translate into SOPs for a team.
• Experience in carrier portals and working with carrier relationship managers.
• AI fluency in real service work and ability to automate processes.
• Compliance responsibility for licensed staff and documentation.
• Coaching-first leadership style and team-building focus.
• Active P&C producer license (Colorado resident preferred) or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, and lead a small team of licensed account managers.
• Own service-level performance metrics and report to leadership.
• Carry the toughest escalations and complex coverage disputes.
• Own carrier relationships for servicing matters and SLA negotiation.
• Translate recurring manual work into product requirements and automation.
• Own the compliance backbone of the function with Legal and Compliance.
• Coach team growth through regular 1:1s and hiring plans.
