Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to support planning and preconstruction for commercial projects from concept to bid. You will develop accurate estimates, review plans, perform takeoffs, and solicit subcontractor pricing.

The role calls for strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and project sequencing. You will collaborate with executives, PMs, superintendents, owners, and vendors to build reliable budgets.

Qualifications

3-10+ years of commercial estimating or preconstruction experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in CM, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and building systems.
Experience estimating both ground-up and renovation projects preferred.
Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
Ability to develop complete project estimates from takeoffs.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design-development, and final estimates.
Perform thorough quantity takeoffs from drawings across disciplines.
Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subs, and general conditions.
Review bid documents to fully understand project scope and risks.
Identify gaps, constructability concerns, and potential cost risks.
Develop preliminary budgets when docs are immature.
Assist with value engineering and alternate construction methods.
Provide cost comparisons for materials and systems.
Develop bid packages and manage subcontractor pricing.
Maintain organized estimating files and documentation.
