Job summary

gpac is seeking an Estimator for Commercial Construction in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves early involvement in preconstruction, collaborating with management, design teams, and operations to deliver accurate estimates for diverse regional projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction documents and proposals, with experience in conceptual estimating, value engineering, and subcontractor bid evaluation. This is a full-time on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• General Contractor experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with conceptual estimating and design-build projects is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Someone who wants to be part of a team and grow long-term with a reputable contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual through final estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Work closely with project management, field, design, and ownership teams throughout preconstruction.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost analysis.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in project handoffs from preconstruction into operations.
