Job summary

gpac is representing a Milwaukee, WI based General Contractor seeking an Estimator to join their preconstruction team on diverse commercial projects. The estimator will be involved early in the process, handling quantity takeoffs, bids, and cost analysis while coordinating with PM, field, design, and ownership teams.

The ideal candidate will have commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience, GC exposure, and strong communication and detail orientation to support project

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• General Contractor experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with conceptual estimating and design-build projects is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Team player with long-term growth mindset at a reputable contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual through final estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Collaborate with project management, field, design, and ownership teams in preconstruction.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost analysis.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in project handoffs from preconstruction into operations.
