Job summary

gpac seeks an Estimator for a leading Milwaukee area commercial contractor. The role involves early involvement in projects, collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver diverse regional commercial work.

Responsibilities include taking off quantities, developing scopes, bidding subs, and supporting budgeting and value engineering throughout preconstruction. A team-focused, growth-minded candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience required.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings and specifications.
• Experience with conceptual estimating and design-build projects is a plus.
• Good communication, organization and attention to detail are essential.
• Desire to be part of a team and grow long-term with a reputable contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual through final estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Work with project management, field, design and ownership through preconstruction.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews and cost analysis.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in project handoffs from preconstruction into operations.
