Job summary

B&B Concrete in Austin, TX is seeking a Concrete Estimator to deliver accurate bid proposals, takeoffs, and scope analyses for commercial projects.

You will prepare pricing for new work and change orders, review drawings and specs, and coordinate with project teams, suppliers, and purchasers to win contracts.

Strong field knowledge of cast-in-place concrete and solid communication are essential to growing the business.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast-in-place concrete, footings, and foundations.
• Strong verbal and written communication with contractors, suppliers, and others.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Familiarity with structural products (joist, deck, stairs, rails, anchor rods).
• Ability to assemble scope with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
• Experience with estimating software; Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience using B2W software is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial, self-motivated; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead Estimator on bids and takeoffs.
• Read bid instructions and prepare material takeoffs.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items and crane costs.
• Review proposals, specs and drawings; determine scope and takeoffs.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decisions.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and owners/GCs.
• Oversee buyout process with Project Manager.
