Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Houston seeks a Concrete Estimator to develop accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for potential projects. You will read specifications, perform take-offs, and prepare pricing on new work and change orders.

You will estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs, work with suppliers and subcontractors, and help ensure profitable bids. Strong communication, computer skills, and knowledge of concrete construction are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast-in-place concrete construction, concrete footings and foundations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Experience with purchasing, suppliers and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead Estimator: read bid instructions, detailed specs, and prepare a take-off of materials.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs to prepare a through price estimate.
• Review proposals, specifications and drawings; attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and develop quantity take-offs.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decision making during the estimating phase.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; coordinate with Owners and General Contractors.
• Responsible for buyout process with Project Manager.
