Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a Concrete Estimator to provide accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for commercial self-perform projects. You will develop take-offs, price labor, materials, and equipment costs, including crane costs, to deliver competitive estimates with appropriate profit margins.

The role requires reading technical documents, coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, owners and general contractors, and leveraging estimating software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast-in-place concrete construction, concrete footings and foundations.
• Strong written and verbal communication with contractors, suppliers, purchasing and others.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using B2W software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimator: read bid instructions, prepare material take-offs.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs (including crane costs).
• Review proposals and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, determine scope of work and develop quantity take-offs.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decisions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with owners and general contractors.
• Responsible for the buyout process with the Project Manager.
