Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a Concrete Estimator to prepare accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for potential construction projects. The role includes take-offs, change-order pricing, and coordinating with the Project Manager on buyouts, procurement, and schedule impacts.

The estimator will review drawings and specifications, manage labor and material costs, and work with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and appropriate profit margins.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years estimating successful large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Must possess knowledge and field experience with cast in place concrete construction, footings, and foundations.
• Strong verbal and written communication for contractors, suppliers, purchasing, and others.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Knowledge of structural products including joist, deck, stairs, rails, anchor rods, etc.
• Ability to assemble scope of work with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with B2W estimating software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read bid instructions, specifications, and prepare material take-offs.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs to produce a complete price estimate.
• Review proposals and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and quantity take-offs.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decisions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, and general contractors.
• Manage buyout process with the Project Manager.
