Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a Concrete Estimator to prepare accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for potential projects. The role includes price estimates for new work and change orders, with emphasis on concrete labor, materials, equipment, and transportation costs to achieve profit goals.

The estimator will read drawings and specs, perform quantity take-offs, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and support project management and purchasing activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast in place concrete construction, footings and foundations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Knowledge of related structural products (joist, deck, stairs, rails, anchor rods).
• Ability to assemble scope of work with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
• Experience with estimating software packages and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Read bid instructions and prepare take-offs of materials.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs (including crane costs).
• Review proposals/specifications/drawings and develop scope and quantity take-offs.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decisions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, owners and general contractors.
• Oversee buyout process with the Project Manager.
