Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a Concrete Estimator to prepare accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for large commercial projects. You will take off quantities, price labor and materials, review specifications, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope.

Leverage your concrete knowledge and strong communication to develop competitive buyouts while coordinating with suppliers and the Project Manager to drive successful project bids and company growth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast in place concrete construction, footings, and foundations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Knowledge of related structural products including joist, deck, stairs, rails, anchor rods, etc.
• Ability to assemble scope of work with required inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
• Knowledge of construction terminology and estimating software packages.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Lead Estimator.
• Read and understand bid instructions, detailed specifications, prepare a take-off of materials included in the job.
• Estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, equipment costs to prepare a thorough price estimate.
• Review proposals, specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and develop quantity take-offs.
• Incorporates safety in means and methods during estimating.
• Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, owners and general contractors.
• Responsible for buyout process with Project Manager.
