Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Supervisor Coding to oversee the coding operations for inpatients, hospital outpatients, and ambulatory visits. You will supervise staff, monitor productivity and quality, and ensure adherence to coding guidelines while optimizing reimbursement.

The role requires six years of coding experience, relevant certifications, and strong leadership and communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree can be substituted by equivalent coding experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; additional two years of certified coding experience may substitute for degree.
• Six years of experience in applicable coding operations; HM employees with one year less may be considered.
• Required certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CPC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily department coding operations for inpatient, hospital outpatient, and ambulatory visits.
• Supervise staff, ensure quality, productivity, and adherence to coding standards.
• Monitor metrics, provide education to physicians and revenue cycle staff, and manage staffing decisions.
