Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Coding & Charge Capture Supervisor to lead the Coding Department, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely claim submission across the revenue cycle. This role requires strong government regulation knowledge and cross-department collaboration.

The supervisor will train staff, manage performance, and coordinate with IT for compliance updates and workflow optimization in a multi-hospital system.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Associates degree in a related field or 8+ years of provider coding/billing experience.
• CPC or equivalent coding certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a multi-specialty medical practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations and monitors workload to meet goals while ensuring work accuracy.
• Develops guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and reporting obligations.
• Coordinates coding and quality audits for regulatory and third-party requirements.
• Manages charge capture processes to ensure timely and accurate claim submission.
• Trains and develops staff; handles hiring, payroll, and performance actions.
• Liaises with Coding and Information Systems departments on updates and optimization.
