Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to drive development of a cloud-native platform built on Kubernetes. You will shape the engineering roadmap with management and stakeholders, and deliver enterprise features for a scalable, secure cloud platform.

You will mentor teams, promote best practices, and lead Agile collaboration to accelerate innovation and reliable, high-performance services across Akamai's IaaS ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Leadership experience in Cloud Native Platform Engineering, driving toward an enabled ecosystem of capabilities within our organization.
• Experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Expert knowledge of the Go programming language and be comfortable leveraging Python or Bash for scripting needs.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
• Expertise leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices.
