Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to advance our Kubernetes-based cloud-native platform and drive architecture across teams. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with management, and shape the roadmap to deliver scalable, secure services for enterprise customers.

You'll help accelerate product delivery by aligning engineering practices with business goals, expanding capabilities, and promoting rapid, high-quality development in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Leadership experience in Cloud Native Platform Engineering, driving toward an enabled ecosystem of capabilities within our organization.
• Experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Expert knowledge of the Go programming language and be comfortable leveraging Python or Bash for scripting needs.
• Exposure to networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and Linux-based operating systems.
• Expertise leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices.]

• Leading the development of the cloud native platform built on Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies
• Contributing to and helping shape the engineering roadmap by working with management and business stakeholders
• Contributing to enterprise features expected from a cloud native platform
• Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
• Leading and collaborating with engineering teams in an Agile environment
• Fostering an environment that encourages innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication
