Job summary

Akamai's Cloud Technology Group Compute division is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to drive the cloud-native platform on Kubernetes. You will lead the development, shape the engineering roadmap with management and stakeholders, and mentor teams in an Agile setting.

You will design enterprise features, ensure high availability, and push for scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-native solutions across Akamai's IaaS platform.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience leading Cloud Native Platform Engineering teams.
• Experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant production services using Kubernetes.
• Expert knowledge of the Go programming language and scripting with Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the cloud native platform built on Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies.
• Contributing to and helping shape the engineering roadmap by working with management and business stakeholders.
• Contributing to enterprise features expected from a cloud native platform.
• Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
