Job summary

CVS Health Enterprise Technology seeks a Lead Cloud Engineer to shape the Observability Platform. You will architect and scale pipelines handling logs, metrics, and traces across multiple cloud environments, collaborating with SRE and engineering teams to drive reliable, secure, and observable systems.

The role emphasizes design leadership, mentoring across teams, and delivering self-service capabilities to simplify onboarding, troubleshooting, and adoption for application teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core observability platform services using Go, Python, Java (Spring Boot).
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry, including client libraries and instrumentation patterns.
• Architect and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces) with focus on performance and reliability.
• Develop self-service observability capabilities to simplify onboarding and troubleshooting for application teams.
• Implement end-to-end monitoring of the observability platform, defining SLOs and alerting.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Cloud teams to establish reliability standards and incident practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident mitigation and root-cause analysis.
• Automate operational workflows and improve platform automation through CI/CD enhancements.
• Ensure secure telemetry pipelines with mTLS and secrets management.
• Produce high-quality documentation and best practices.
• Engage with internal teams to gather requirements and influence roadmap.
