Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer to design, implement, and support cloud-native data ingestion, processing, and enterprise data platform solutions. You will lead by example, mentor peers, and drive architectural choices across teams.

The role emphasizes scalable, secure, resilient systems and hands-on leadership in API, streaming, and batch data workflows. Office-based with potential flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of software or cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Java and/or Python in enterprise apps.
• Experience building data platforms for high-volume batch/streaming workloads.
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and support enterprise applications and platform services.
• Evaluate architectures and recommend technologies for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Develop cloud-native solutions using APIs, events, and distributed systems.
• Provide technical leadership during design reviews and implementations.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Stay current with cloud trends and enterprise integration patterns.
• Mentor engineers and lead projects as the technical authority.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
