Job summary

Huntington National Bank in Columbus, OH seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and optimize cloud-native data ingestion and processing platforms. You will guide senior engineers, implement scalable, secure, and observable data solutions using Java and Python, and collaborate across teams.

The role emphasizes enterprise standards, distributed systems, and modern cloud architectures (GCP). Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
7+ years of software or cloud engineering experience.
Experience developing enterprise apps using Java and/or Python.
Experience building data platforms for high-volume batch and streaming workloads.
Experience designing distributed systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

Analyzes, designs, develops, and supports enterprise applications and platform services.
Evaluates architectural approaches and recommends technologies based on requirements, cost, scalability, reliability, and supportability.
Develops cloud-native solutions using APIs, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems principles.
Provides technical leadership and guidance during design reviews and implementation activities.
Troubleshoots complex production issues and drives root cause analysis and remediation.
Mentors less experienced engineers and serves as technical lead on projects.
