Job summary
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Lake Buena Vista, FL to lead the end-to-end engineering and automation of the Point of Sale system. You will design scalable, cloud-based real-time architecture and drive reliability, performance, and uptime across Disney’s retail platforms.
You’ll report to the Director of Software Engineering and guide on-shore and off-shore teams, partner with architects, and shape major technical directions with a focus on guest and cast
Qualifications
- 10+ years in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable software systems.
- 4-6 years of team lead experience.
- Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) experience.
- Certifications or working experience of ITIL and Agile processes.
Responsibilities
- End to end engineering lead responsible for the implementation and automation of the POS system.
- Owns and leads large development projects and teams with multi-component scope.
- Identify new directions and opportunities; champion innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with management and architects to produce complex software across groups.
- Conduct strategic research and design for major technical areas.
- Monitor emerging technologies and propose adoption where appropriate.
- Provide mentorship across teams and offshore/onshore resources.
