Job summary
Disney Experiences (DX) in Lake Buena Vista, FL is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and build scalable software systems, APIs, and services with Java and cloud-native patterns. You will lead hands-on coding, champion AI-driven development, and shape architecture across distributed systems while collaborating with product, design, and IT partners.
Ideal candidates have 7+ years building large-scale software, deep cloud experience (AWS), and strong leadership skills to mentor engineers
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience building large-scale software systems and leading engineering teams.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API-led integration.
- Strong hands-on in Java 21+, Spring, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of architecture taxonomies, patterns, and standards.
- Ability to align architecture with strategic objectives and OKRs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and personally code scalable, well-documented software systems and APIs.
- Champion AI-driven development across the software lifecycle.
- Set architectural direction and develop roadmaps aligned with reference architecture.
- Own reservation systems, inventory and booking capabilities, avoiding overbooking issues.
- Collaborate with product, design, and IT stakeholders to deliver value.
