Job summary

Zebra Technologies seeks a Cloud AI Engineer, Lead to drive cloud-native AI initiatives across IT Platform Engineering and Cloud Security. You will act as a hands-on architect, partner with stakeholders, and deliver PoCs that scale AI-driven insights. The role emphasizes RBAC, PII masking, and CI/CD in GCP and Azure environments.

The position is hybrid with on-site collaboration in Lincolnshire, IL or Holtsville, NY. Strong Python, Kubernetes, and GenAI experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in an operations style team (NOC/SOC/MOC) and troubleshooting networking, service desk, or cloud-based infrastructure.
• Hands-on Google Gemini Enterprise experience with ADK and agent development.
• Multi-cloud & GenAI platform proficiency including GCP, Azure, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
• Experience in global, heterogeneous cloud and on-prem environments.
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic AI patterns.
• Strong Python scripting for automation and testing; dev background welcomed.
• Active cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Architect/ML Engineer) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and translate ideas into actionable cloud/AI platform solutions.
• Lead PoCs, deliver rapid AI/ML capabilities, and drive innovation.
• Architect cloud-native AI platforms and AI-powered log analytics (AIOps).
• Guide cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with security and governance.
• Establish repeatable cloud-native deployment models across GCP and Azure.
• Mentor engineers toward scalable, secure, cost-efficient solutions.
• Define KPIs and report progress to leadership.
