Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a climbing arborist to lead a small crew performing pruning and removal for major electric utilities. The role is on site with responsibilities for safety, planning, and skilled equipment operation.

The position requires line clearance/tree work experience, a valid driver's license, and climbing ability. CDL and ISA/TCIA certifications are preferred; company offers PTO, 401(k), and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Required: Tree climbing experience
• Required: Valid driver's license
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal services for major electric utilities
• Pruning treetops and removing damaged trees
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines and structures
• Perform job-site planning and safety inspections
• Operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts)
• Mentor and train new employees
