Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to guide a field crew on outdoor residential and commercial tree-care projects. The role emphasizes climbing, rigging, pruning, removal and safety, with a focus on developing skills through Davey’s Career Development Program.

You will work on-site with opportunities for advancement, training, and company-provided safety gear. Travel up to 25% is expected where needed.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment to plan and execute assigned work.
• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood in canopies.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and mentor crew during career development program.
• Operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
