Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to guide a field crew in delivering arboricultural care in outdoor settings. You’ll manage crew safety, perform climbing tasks, and ensure high-quality work in diverse environments.

This on-site role requires hands-on leadership, top-notch tree care skills, and commitment to safety, with opportunities for career development and benefits through a large employee-owned network.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and related licenses/certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Arborist/Tree Worker and/or TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional credentials.

Responsibilities

• Direct a crew and equipment for assigned arboricultural work.
• Lead pruning, thinning, and removal of deadwood in the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts) correctly.
