Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Nashville seeks an experienced Civil Preconstruction Estimator to lead the construction precon department and manage competitive cost estimates for civil projects.

You will analyze drawings, specs, and plans to prepare detailed estimates, orchestrate bid processes, identify labor/materials/time, and solicit subcontractor quotes. Strong communication and detailing are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as an estimator in civil construction with a proven track record.
• Experience estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities).
• Proficient in estimation software (Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, AGTEK, Excel).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; eye for detail mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate the estimating & bid processes for civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
