Job summary

United Future in Nashville is seeking a Civil Preconstruction Estimator to lead the Preconstruction Department. You will analyze drawings, specs, and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for civil projects and orchestrate the estimating and bid processes.

You will identify labor, materials, and time requirements, solicit subcontractor quotes, prepare bid packages, and present final estimates to senior management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in civil construction.
• Proven track record estimating civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities).
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Eye for detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other docs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate estimating and bid processes for civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
