Job summary

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Civil Engineer II to lead the Bluebelt section within the Capital Program Management group. You will oversee stormwater engineering studies, design BMPs, and develop preliminary plans and associated sewer networks.

You will manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and reviews, supervise staff, and coordinate with NYC Parks, DOT, and community groups to advance a citywide Bluebelt program that enhances drainage, reduces flooding,

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license required and maintained.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage teams leading stormwater studies and design BMPs for Bluebelt projects.
• Prepare budgets and schedules for capital Bluebelt projects.
• Oversee contract management and invoicing for consultants.
• Lead planning and design of Bluebelt BMPs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Supervise field inspections and data collection; prepare reports.
• Lead stakeholder engagement with city agencies, contractors, consultants, and the public.
