Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking 3 Assistant Environmental Engineers to perform SWPPP reviews and stormwater permit activities within BEPA. Candidates should review plans, respond to inquiries, and ensure compliance with the Unified Stormwater Rule and MS4 mandates.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering with environmental focus or related field.
• One year of environmental engineering experience for option 1; master's for substitution.
• Familiarity with stormwater regulations and permits.

Responsibilities

• Review SWPPP plans for compliance with City rules and permits.
• Inspect sites during and after construction for stormwater compliance.
• Communicate permit requirements and penalties clearly to applicants.
• Support implementation of the Unified Stormwater Rule and MS4 permit.
• Coordinate with BEPA and other agencies on project reviews.
