Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking a Lead Teacher Trainer in Downers Grove, IL to lead interactive chess classes for 10-15 young students and to train and coach other instructors.

The role involves travel to multiple schools within the metro area, after-school scheduling responsibilities, and representing the company with professionalism. The position requires 2–3 years of group leadership with children, strong chess fundamentals, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with groups of children.
• Available during after-school hours at least 4 days per week (ideally 5).
• Arrive 15 minutes before first class to set up and prepare; stay until students are dismissed.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain basics to kids.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging chess classes for 10-15 elementary students.
• Coach and train fellow instructors in coaching techniques.
• Assist Area Manager with site visits, coaching, and quality control.
• Complete class evaluation reports and discuss with supervisor.
• Communicate with school administration and parents during site visits.
