Extended Day Duty stipend

Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a coach/advisor for the Extended Day Duty at Wooster High School in Reno, NV. You will coach or advise students, model sportsmanship, enforce discipline, and ensure health and safety within a safe, efficient program.

Coordinate with Principal/Athletic Director, maintain equipment, report on activities, and participate in contests and practices. Compensation is based on the Extended Day Duty Scale, with weekend/varied hours as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Nevada Teaching Certificate desirable.
• CPR certification required for coaches/advisors involved in athletic activity.
• Knowledge of activity rules, theory and regulations; up-to-date with changes.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with students and provide sound leadership; model good sportsmanship.
• Coordinate with Principal and Athletic Director; communicate on program activities (trips, games).
• Ensure accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment.
• Promote good public relations in school and community.
• Attend practices and contests; complete reports evaluating the activity and suggest improvements.
