Job summary

Washoe County School District at Reed High School is seeking a qualified coach/advisor for Extended Day duties, supervising students with a strong emphasis on safety and sportsmanship. You will develop rapport, lead practices and contests, maintain equipment, attend events, and report outcomes to the Principal/Athletic Director.

CPR certification is required; a Nevada teaching certificate is desirable. Compensation is a stipend under the Extended Day Duty Scale.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma; preferred that applicants be teachers under contract with WCSD.
• Experience as a coach/advisor in this activity is preferred.
• Knowledge of activity rules and safety practices.
• CPR certification required for athletic activities.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership.
• Maintains cooperation with school leaders and communicates about the program.
• Maintains equipment and accounts for its upkeep.
• Attends contests and practices and observes rules of conduct.
• Completes reports evaluating the activity and suggests improvements.
