Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a coach/advisor for Extended Day Duty to guide students under the supervision of the Principal or Athletic Director. The role emphasizes safety, leadership, and responsible conduct during activities and trips.

The incumbent will maintain equipment upkeep, foster community relations, attend events, and prepare evaluation reports. Weekend and variable hours may be required; compensation is stipend-based per the Extended Day Duty Scale.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to education and experience that provide required knowledge and skills.
• High school diploma preferred for applicants under contract with WCSD.
• CPR certification required for coaches/advisors involved in athletic activity.
• Knowledge of rules and safety procedures for the activity.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with students and provide sound leadership; model good sportsmanship.
• Maintain cooperation with Principal/Director; communicate program status and events.
• Develop an accountability system for equipment upkeep and protection.
• Foster positive public relations within the school and community.
• Attend contests and practice sessions; complete required reports and evaluations.
• Adhere to weekends/varied hours as required by activity.
