Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks coaches/advisors for Extended Day Duty activities. The role focuses on developing leadership, ensuring student welfare, and maintaining a disciplined, sportsmanlike environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Principal/Athletic Director, supervising practices and contests, and reporting on program effectiveness. Ability to work weekends or varied times may be required.

Qualifications

• Education/experience equivalent; preferred that applicants are teachers currently under contract with WCSD.
• CPR certification is required for coaches/advisors involved in an athletic activity.

Responsibilities

• Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership; acts as an example of good sportsmanship; applies discipline fairly and per procedures.
• Maintains communication with Principal and/or Athletic Director and informs them about the program, trips, games, etc.
• Develops a system for accountability, upkeep, and protection of equipment.
• Develops good public relations in the school and community.
• Attends contests and practice sessions.
• Completes reports evaluating the activity and makes recommendations for improvements.
