Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a coach/advisor for an Extended Day Duty Activity at Reed High School. The role requires leadership with students, adherence to safety and program standards, and regular participation in contests and practices.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and ideally teaching certification; CPR is required for athletic activities. Weekend and variable scheduling may be necessary under the Extended Day Duty framework.

Qualifications

Equivalent to education and experience that could provide required knowledge and skills.
High school diploma preferred; teachers under contract with WCSD are advantageous.
Some experience as a coach/advisor in the activity.
Knowledge of activity rules, theory and regulations.
CPR certification required for coaches involved in athletic activity.
Ability to work weekends and varied hours depending on activity.

Responsibilities

Develops rapport with students and provides sound leadership.
Maintains cooperation with Principal/Athletic Director and communicates program status.
Develops a sound system for accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment.
Develops good public relations in school and community.
Attends contests and practice sessions.
Completes reports evaluating the activity and makes recommendations for improvements.
