Job summary

Bayley Life is seeking a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse to lead a nursing unit in a long-term care setting. The charge nurse will oversee daily resident care, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with all regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, with a preference for 2 years in long-term care.

The role involves coordinating with the Nursing Supervisor and physicians, guiding care plans, and maintaining high standards of resident safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Completion of an LPN or RN curriculum from an accredited program.
• Current LPN or RN license (Ohio) held.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal regulations and Ohio State regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• 2 years of experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide unit leadership to maintain morale and a productive team environment.
• Lead and supervise staff, including STNA assignments and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations governing long-term care.
• Develop rapport with inter-departmental and cross-functional personnel.
• Facilitate regular staff meetings to identify issues and improve services.
• Train and assess nursing staff to ensure knowledge of residents' rights and procedures.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Consult with Nursing Supervisor and attending physician on plans of care and changes in patient condition.
