Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking a Lead Driver to coordinate transportation activities across branches within the Indiana territory. You will lead daily priorities, assign duties, and act as the local contact to ensure timely deliveries and exceptional customer service.

The role requires 3+ years in a driver/wholesale electrical parts distribution setting, knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations, and the ability to obtain DOT medical and forklift certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in driver/wholesale electrical parts distribution.
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Routing software familiarity preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical and forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Ability to use warehouse equipment and inventory systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily priorities and assign duties within the team.
• Drive company trucks for on-schedule deliveries and pickups; cover absences as needed.
• Load and unload trucks accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and measure training for drivers.
• Train new transportation team members on policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Track performance and conduct ride-alongs to ensure on-road quality and identify improvements.
• Assist with building daily delivery routes using routing software.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate improvements to management.
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintain DOT safety compliance records.
