Job summary

BART’s Office of Infrastructure Delivery seeks a Principal Integration Engineer to lead the CBTC integration with existing train control and related systems. You will guide the full lifecycle from requirements through commissioning, coordinating cross‑functional teams and external partners to ensure safe, reliable operations.

You will manage testing activities, troubleshoot issues, and develop long‑term solutions while mentoring engineers and collaborating with Operations, Safety, and Capital

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of CBTC and conventional train control systems.
• Experience leading requirements, design, interface management, verification and validation.
• Experience integrating CBTC with rolling stock and wayside equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of CBTC with existing train control systems.
• Coordinate testing: lab, field, and operational scenarios.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot issues, and implement long-term improvements.
• Mentor engineering staff and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety and external partners.
