Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Project Manager for CBTC/Car Systems in New York to lead owner-side delivery of carborne train control projects. You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, testing, and commissioning, coordinating with CBTC suppliers, railcar builders, and operations teams to ensure on-time revenue service.

Strong leadership and problem-solving in a complex transit environment are essential. You will manage technical oversight, contractor coordination, field activities, and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 10+ years in rail transit systems with CBTC or train control experience preferred.
• Hands-on CBTC installation, PICO, testing, and commissioning on heavy-rail fleets.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of carborne CBTC and car-systems contracts: scope, schedule, staff, budget, risk, and client relationship.
• Coordinate field activities, test-track access, and mainline work with operations and labor teams.
• Oversee inspections, testing, and safety certifications to reach revenue service.
• Track software releases, participate in safety boards, and support certs.
• Review submittals, test procedures, and contractor communications for specs.
• Lead technical meetings with CBTC suppliers and railcar builders to resolve interfaces.
• Prepare scopes, RFPs, ROM estimates; participate in change negotiations.
• Review payments and status reports as required, and manage project closeout.
• Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans; oversee punch lists and spares.
• Mentor inspectors and engineers; support business development for CBTC pursuits.
