Job summary

Legends Global in New York City is seeking a Catering / Special Events Supervisor to oversee the successful execution of catered events, banquets, and special functions. You will coordinate logistics, supervise event staff, and ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining hospitality standards.

Working with cross‑functional teams, you will ensure events are safe, efficient, and guest‑facing experiences are memorable. Strong leadership, communication, and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework in hospitality, event management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Active ServSafe Food Handler Certification required.
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in banquet operations, catering, special events, or upscale food and beverage service.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working in a high-volume hospitality environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, setup, execution, and breakdown of catered events, banquets, receptions, and special functions.
• Ensure event spaces are properly prepared and maintained to meet specifications and guest expectations.
• Coordinate movement, setup, and return of equipment, furniture, beverages, smallwares, and supplies.
• Serve as primary operational contact during events and address guest or client requests.
• Monitor operations to ensure service quality, cleanliness, and organization.
• Partner with Catering, Culinary, Stewarding, Facilities, Security, and other departments for seamless execution.
• Resolve guest concerns and operational issues professionally and timely.
• Maintain inventories of equipment, supplies, beverages, and event materials.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.
