Job summary

Compass Corporate in the Bay Area seeks a Director of Catering Services to drive costs, quality standards, and client relationships. You will lead a team, maintain profitability, and align catering activities with the facility plan and operations.

You will foster interdepartmental collaboration, mentor staff, and ensure superior service for events across venues. The role reports to the General Manager and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–6 years of catering events management experience.
• TIPs certification required.
• ServSafe certification recommended.
• Strong knowledge of food, industry trends and fine dining.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• High integrity and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Service Managers and regional Directors to align events with company and client standards.
• Ensure high levels of customer service for each event.
• Interview, hire, train, and assist with scheduling staff within local pool.
• Conduct orientation for Catering Directors/Managers on company standards.
• Handle employee relations issues with team collaboration.
• Coach, counsel, and train staff per company policies with Staffing Services.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Support Directors with staffing budgets and financial accountability related to service.
