Compass Corporate in Washington, DC is seeking a Catering Director to lead a high-volume premiere catering department. You will develop and drive catering solutions, working with the Executive Chef on menu development and coordinating events from coffee services to VIP dining.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in catering leadership, including management, with proven experience in menu costing and contract pricing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in catering leadership including two years in management.
• Proven experience in booking, selecting, and costing menu items, pricing contracts, and sourcing temporary help and equipment.
• Strong ability to supervise food preparation, service, and cleanup, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be experienced with computers.
• ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee catering events to ensure seamless execution and high customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain the catering marketing plan, offering clients a comprehensive event planning service and detailed menu development.
• Lead hiring, training, and scheduling of catering staff and develop the team in service techniques and policies.
• Ensure operations of catering functions with control over labor and food costs and manage setup, execution, and cleanup.
• Collaborate with Management and Marketing teams to grow catering revenue and market reach.
• Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives and drive retention.
• Perform other duties to support dining service operations.
