Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Uniontown, PA seeks a capable Cashier/Stocker lead to support daily operations. You will assist in setting plan-o-grams, provide exemplary customer service, and help maximize store profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

The role also involves operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean, organized store. Previous supervisory exposure is preferred; full-time schedule available.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following store procedures.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and greeting customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, and collect payment.
• Maintain a clean store, including front end, stockroom and restrooms.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of Area Manager; authorize refunds and overrides as needed.
• Maintain cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to cash control procedures.
• Monitor cash levels and assist with drawer pulls; monitor cameras where applicable.
