Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will assist with plan-o-grams, stock shelves, unload trucks, and provide exemplary customer service while protecting assets.

The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. A high school diploma or equivalent with supervisory exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions and related hardware.
• Knowledge of plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with supervisory exposure.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate stock.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment.
